REVIEW: Southern Perfection by Casey Peeler

(Summary from Goodreads). Life is full of choices: good, bad, and ones you can’t control.

Raegan strives to be perfect in every way. Varsity cheerleader, honor student, and proud granddaughter of Dover Lowery. By day, Raegan is an over-achieving high school student, but at three o’clock, her real work begins.

What happens when appearances are not what they seem? Will Raegan be able to hold on to her life as she knows it, or will she be left all alone?

All of these questions are answered with one night, one song, one story, and one boy.

I received this book for free for an honest review.

This book was so sweet and cute. The characters were adorable. I felt like the story was just too slow for my liking. I started out really wanting to know what was happening and falling for the characters, but after that it was a little slow and too many things were happening.

Raegan had so much tragedy in her life and her number one has always been her grandfather. Once Emmett comes back to town, she has an instant connection with him. She has always had a soft spot for him since the accident.

I'm torn. I really liked the beginning of the story and the direction of the development that was happening, but after a while I couldn't get into it. It just wasn't my favorite contemporary book. The writing was really good though, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

3.5 stars out of five.
