(Summary from Goodreads). He was lost and alone. Then he found her.
And the future seemed more fragile than ever.
As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed.
All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy…
As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat.
I really LOVED Easy. It was definitely one of my favorite contemporary books that I have read… when I found out about Breakable I couldn't get my hands on it until now! I didn't really remember what happened in Easy (on the Landon/Lucas side), but I had some memories about it. It's definitely been a while since I've read it.
I really loved Lucas's side of the story. I loved how it was split between the Landon side of the story and Lucas side of the story. The Before and the After. I'm not sure if I liked it as much as I loved Easy. I might have loved it more if I read it right after Easy, but I did like it a lot. It was so fun to read and really heartbreaking to hear what Landon went through.
I find the part of Landon's friendship with Boyce really funny because it really is how a guy friendship could be.
Landon/Lucas was such a fun character to be in the mind of. I loved reading his perspective of the story. Would definiltey recommend it (although I would probably suggest to read it right after Easy).

(Summary from Goodreads). Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.
But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.
But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.
Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
I honestly could not get through this book. I tried to read it because I heard good things about it from friends, but it wasn't for me. I liked Bianca's voice for the portion that I read. She is very sarcastic and interesting. I thought I would like this book more than I actually did.
I couldn't get through the story and really didn't care for the characters. I read a little bit of the book and didn't really want to find out how it ended.
I will try to read this book again another time, but for now it was not my favorite read.

I LOVED this book! It is such a fun read and so easy to read. I loved every minute of it. At first I didn't really get it, but I quickly got into the story. I honestly loved that it took place in LA. I live so close to LA and reading about the "night life" of LA was really fun.
The story development was perfect. The characters were perfect. I really want to know more about Tori and Adam! SWOONS! Seriously. I need a guy like Adam in my life. PLEASE.
I love how Adam completely balanced out Tori's craziness. Tori had the answer to ALL the relationship questions even though some of her advice was a little out there (30 DAYS BEFORE JUMPING INTO ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP?!).
I love the ending note from the author. It makes me so sad that she had a deal with Disney, but since her first book didn't do well, they ended the contract. That's so heartbreaking! I loved this book and everything about it. It was definitely a fun read and everyone should read it. ESPECIALLY if you like LA adventures. :)

REVIEW: Love, Lucy by April Linder
(Review from Goodreads). While backpacking through Florence, Italy, during the summer before she heads off to college, Lucy Sommersworth finds herself falling in love with the culture, the architecture, the food...and Jesse Palladino, a handsome street musician. After a whirlwind romance, Lucy returns home, determined to move on from her "vacation flirtation." But just because summer is over doesn't mean Lucy and Jesse are over, too.
In this coming-of-age romance, April Lindner perfectly captures the highs and lows of a summer love that might just be meant to last beyond the season.
I really liked reading this story. It was such a quick and easy read and it was fun. It reminded me of one of my trips to Italy. I LOVED Italy so much (despite having a person like Charlene with me…).
The only thing that was a little weird about the story was the point of view. Sometimes the narration would be like "Lucy didn't understand…" or something like that, and sometimes it would be first person. It was just a little weird.
I loved Jesse. He was such a perfect book character. I loved that he made such a big influence on Lucy in such a short time… and he came back for her!
Overall I really liked the story and would recommend it to other people. I liked the characters just fine and feel like the development of the story was good.
Four out of five stars.

REVIEW: Zac and Mia by A.J. Betts
(Summary from Goodreads). "When I was little I believed in Jesus and Santa, spontaneous combustion, and the Loch Ness monster. Now I believe in science, statistics, and antibiotics."
So says seventeen-year-old Zac Meier during a long, grueling leukemia treatment in Perth, Australia. A loud blast of Lady Gaga alerts him to the presence of Mia, the angry, not-at-all-stoic cancer patient in the room next door. Once released, the two near-strangers can’t forget each other, even as they desperately try to resume normal lives. The story of their mysterious connection drives this unflinchingly tough, tender novel told in two voices.
This was a really fun read. I loved all the characters in this story. Zac is so sarcastic and adorable. His sense of humor is a great addition to the story. I really liked that it alternated in his point of view and Mia's. It was a little different because it took place in Austrailia.
This author's writing is a little different in style. I liked it, but it took me a while to become attached to the characters. I would love to read more from this author in the future. I twas a really cute story, but sad at times. I was SO scared during the last part of the story.
I'm torn though. I liked the story. The beginning was really interesting and funny, but by the middle of it… I was just a little tired. I just wanted to see what happened.
It's different. That's the thing. Something about it is very different, but good. I liked it enough.

REVIEW: Hold Me Like a Breath by Tiffany Schmidt
(Summary from Goodreads). Penelope Landlow has grown up with the knowledge that almost anything can be bought or sold—including body parts. She’s the daughter of one of the three crime families that control the black market for organ transplants.
Penelope’s surrounded by all the suffocating privilege and protection her family can provide, but they can't protect her from the autoimmune disorder that causes her to bruise so easily.
And in her family's line of work no one can be safe forever.
All Penelope has ever wanted is freedom and independence. But when she’s caught in the crossfire as rival families scramble for prominence, she learns that her wishes come with casualties, that betrayal hurts worse than bruises, that love is a risk worth taking . . . and maybe she’s not as fragile as everyone thinks.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
I'm not sure about this book. I liked the beginning and the storyline. I loved the family dynamic that was in this book. It was really interesting… but there was A LOT that happened. I liked that there were different families and the dynamic and interactions between them. It was similar to reading a book like The Elite (how there is different families, leaders, members, and hierarchy).
I was very intrigued by the beginning. I really wanted to know what else happened with Penny… but after a while there were so many names and things going on that it got kind of confusing. I kept reading because I wanted to know what happened at the end… I'm not really sure if I liked this book as much as I liked Tiffany's other books.
I just don't think this was my cup of tea. I honestly really liked Penny though. She was a very interesting character and I liked reading about her disorder/illness.

REVIEW: Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
(Summary from Goodreads). Peyton, Sydney's charismatic older brother, has always been the star of the family, receiving the lion's share of their parents' attention and—lately—concern. When Peyton's increasingly reckless behavior culminates in an accident, a drunk driving conviction, and a jail sentence, Sydney is cast adrift, searching for her place in the family and the world. When everyone else is so worried about Peyton, is she the only one concerned about the victim of the accident?
Enter the Chathams, a warm, chaotic family who run a pizza parlor, play bluegrass on weekends, and pitch in to care for their mother, who has multiple sclerosis. Here Sydney experiences unquestioning acceptance. And here she meets Mac, gentle, watchful, and protective, who makes Sydney feel seen, really seen, for the first time.
As a long-time lover of all of Sarah Dessen's books, I have to say I loved this one the most. It is really different from her other stories and its as so refreshing! I was expecting it to be the typical story with the guy and girl and falling in love. This was so much more. Not only does it deal with family (and the things a family goes through), it also deals with friendships, finding yourself, and loss.
This book has to be her longest yet. It is VERY long, but honestly there is so much to the story that it is justified… and who would complain about a long Sarah Dessen book? After waiting for her next book for TWO years, it is really worth the wait.
I loved how the book wasn't JUST focused on the relationship between Sydney and Mac. There was so much more.
Can we touch on the subject of Ames? I have never hated a character more. How he was described was just creepy! I hated reading about him.
I loved Syndey. She is such a strong, smart, thoughtful person/character.
The relationships that Dessen rights about seems like they are REAL. They are described so well that it seems like you are reading about real people.

REVIEW: First, Last, and Always by Kim Lehman
(Summary from Goodreads). CHARLOTTE Hubbard dreams about falling in love on a daily basis, but she’s long rejected the idea that someone would ever be interested in an overweight, unappealing girl like her; an opinion that is shared by her way more popular and attractive sister who seems to enjoy pointing out Charlotte's flaws as much as possible.
AND . . .
Then there's MILES Fiester, who thinks that making the basketball team is as impossible as getting the girl he’s liked since grade school to notice him. He’d have more luck getting his deadbeat dad to visit him for a day. But, in the first few weeks of high school, Charlotte and Miles come to discover that life is unpredictable, love happens when you least expect it, and there’s always a first for everything.
I received a free copy of this story for an honest review.
This was a really sweet story about first love, finding yourself, and realizing who your true friends are. I honestly give mad props to Charlotte for not taking all the mean comments personally. I was surprised that she didn't start an eating disorder or something from the things her sister or people at school were saying to her and behind her back. It must have taken a lot. I'm not sure how realistic it was that Charlotte didn't take the comments personally… just because bullying is a serious issue.
I think that Miles was a perfect fit for her. I felt so bad for him the whole time because he obviously liked Charlotte, but was too shy to say anything. He was a really fun character to read about and I really liked his point of view on the world.
I liked this story just fine. It was a fun and easy read with likable main characters. I would recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary romance books.
I love how the story ended with Miles' letter. It was the perfect way to end the story.

REVIEW: Southern Perfection by Casey Peeler
(Summary from Goodreads). Life is full of choices: good, bad, and ones you can’t control.
Raegan strives to be perfect in every way. Varsity cheerleader, honor student, and proud granddaughter of Dover Lowery. By day, Raegan is an over-achieving high school student, but at three o’clock, her real work begins.
What happens when appearances are not what they seem? Will Raegan be able to hold on to her life as she knows it, or will she be left all alone?
All of these questions are answered with one night, one song, one story, and one boy.
I received this book for free for an honest review.
This book was so sweet and cute. The characters were adorable. I felt like the story was just too slow for my liking. I started out really wanting to know what was happening and falling for the characters, but after that it was a little slow and too many things were happening.
Raegan had so much tragedy in her life and her number one has always been her grandfather. Once Emmett comes back to town, she has an instant connection with him. She has always had a soft spot for him since the accident.
I'm torn. I really liked the beginning of the story and the direction of the development that was happening, but after a while I couldn't get into it. It just wasn't my favorite contemporary book. The writing was really good though, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
